    • This book is a bit dry but provides lots of comprehensive information for birth-givers and their support companions


    Ina May's Guide to Childbirth by Ina May Gaskin 

    • This book provides a lovely collection of mostly positive birth stories. It does emphasize unmedicated birth and delivery, but is definitely worth a read even if you are planning on having an epidural.


    Australian Birth Stories

    • Even if you’re not based in Australia, this podcast is wonderful, providing hundreds of episodes highlighting a wide diversity of pregnancy, birth, and post-partum experiences. The host also has an on-line birth and post-partum class, which come widely recommended.


    Evidence Based Birth

    • Founded by a registered nurse with a PhD in Nursing, EBB has become a powerful advocate for informed choices for birth-givers. Check out the blog, especially early in pregnancy, to help provide accurate, clear communication on scientific evidence.
